Wie sich Training bezahlt macht
Am 19.08. 2017 stand ein Jubiläum an. Zum 10. Mal trafen sich Drachenbootteams, Neulinge und Etablierte, zum Fun- und Firmencup von Dragon One am Kühnauer See.
Mit 13 gemeldeten Teams wurde dieses jahr eine neue Höchstmarke an Teilnehmern erreicht. Selbst das Wetter ließ sich da nicht lumpen umd schickte die Sonne raus (welch Wohltat gegenüber Großkayna und Magdeburg 🙂 ).
Steffen und Frohni hatten sich am Abend vorher schon engagiert und das Teamzelt aufgebaut. Schön weit vorn, das garantierte besten Blick auf das Wettkampfgeschehen. Beinahe hätte aber noch eines der heftigen Sommergewitter alles zunichte gemacht. Aber es ging glimpflich aus.
Am Tag des Wettkampfs trudelten alle nach und nach ein. Motiviert waren wir genug, hatten wir doch die 3 Mal zuvor ordentlich trainiert. Ralle von Dragon Onee scheuchte uns ganz schön über den See und so mancher stieg ziemlich kaputt aus dem Boot. Aber es hatte sich gelohnt. Unsere Technik hatte sich spürbar verbessert.
Die ersten Vorläufe wurden mit 2 Teams ausgefahren und entschieden, ob man weiter in der Klasse Fun Sport oder Fun Fun weiterfuhr. Unser Gegner war das MediClin Herzzentrum Coswig. Das Rennen konnten wir gut und sicher für uns entscheiden. Daher ging es für uns im Fun Sport weiter. Dort trafen wir auf alte Bekannte wie DB Dragon Train oder die Datenpiraten. Es waren keine leichten Gegner, trotzdem lieferten wir richtig gute Rennen ab. Sogar DB Train Dragon konnten wir hinter uns lassen. Da für die Läufe Punkte vergeben und nicht die Zeit gemessen wurde, hatten wir vor dem Einzug in die Finalläufe plötzlich Gleichstand mit den Datenpiraten. Das bedeutete Stechen und damit ein zusätzliches Rennen. Es wurde ein Herzschlagfinale. Erst die Videoauswertung konnte den Sieger ermitteln. Und zogen wir stolz ins A-Finale Fun Sport ein. Hier ging es wieder gegen das Team von DB Train Racing und die Wittenberger Schloßdrachen. Leider verließ uns da ein wenig das „Glück“ 🙂 . Im Finale mussten wir in der von uns ungeliebten, kleinen „Nelo“ auf der hinteren Bahn antreten. Wir gaben alles was noch drin war, konnten aber diesmal nichts mehr zugeben und fuhren als Dritter über die Linie. Von Enttäuchung aber keine Spur.
Nach einer kurzen Pause hieß es dann noch einmal das Boot entern. Die 500m Runde stand an. Auch hier holten wir wieder alles aus uns raus, zumal uns lange Strecken liegen. Eine schlecht gesteuerte Wende und fehlende Kraft im Endspurt verhinderten leider einen erneuten Platz auf dem Treppchen. Etwas enttäuscht nahmen wir den 4. Platz mit gerade mal 4/10tel Sekunden Rückstand auf den Dritten ein.
Nach einer tollen Siegerehrung bei schönster Spätsommersonne räumten wir unseren Platz und verabschiedeten uns von der Outdoorsaison 2017.
